Ok confession time…
… since my last post on learning to speak Polish with the rather excellent Rosetta Stone language course I have been rather spasmodic in my attention to it. Now I could just blame the fact that life has swamped me or even stand up to be counted as one of the lazy folk in this world who is easily distracted and has zero will power, both true to a degree. Though I think it is fairer to say that I have a lifestyle that is not conducive to this exercise, let me explain…
I work a rather severe shift pattern that has me up at 3am one week and the next week going to bed at 5am; this takes a severe toll on the body and spirit. Coupled with the fact that I have one of the few remaining jobs in the universe that is not computer related means my access to a PC is limited. I tend to find that when I have the time to learn I have no energy or attention to fully indulge in the wonders of learning new stuff, especially complex matters like Polish.
I was starting to think that this was a lost cause and that I was not going to be able to maximise my limited access to this wonderful opportunity.
Then a life changing connection was made.
Sitting there one day waiting to come home I was playing around with my phone, a smart phone when I discovered that there was an app for that!
There is an app for everything these days, but the app I was focused on was the Rosetta Stone Mobile App.
A quick download and install later, I entered in my obligatory password and username and voila there was not only my course but it already knew what lessons I had taken, my scores and my progress point. This changed everything, now all I need is a Wi-Fi connection and an ear piece with a microphone, sorted.
I still have the problem that I do not have access to the writing part of the exercises but that for me is not an issue as my main goal is to be able to talk in Polish and have the added bonus of being able to read Polish.

I am also kind of hoping that if I crack those two targets that the writing part will flow along naturally, time will tell.
Wish me luck.

Mark! Już nie mogę się doczekać kiedy będziemy mogli porozumieć się bez problemu po polsku. Trzymam kciuki
😉
I would love to learn a new language. I’ve never been very good at new languages but I’d really love to learn. Maybe Rosetta Stone has what I need to learn it. Thanks for the review.
I really not good at any language, I think I will have to try this new app
What a brilliant idea. I’ve had a couple of their programs for a while and this would make it much easier to get the lessons done.
I’ve always wanted to learn more Russian or Ukrainian through Rosetta Stone. But honestly, I had no idea that had an app. I may even be able to start before the end of the year now. 🙂
i had no idea that Rosetta has gone mobile! Super cool!
this is such a beautiful things!
thank you for sharing this app!
im so happy can learn many languages..
Rosetta Stone is the best. I’m getting German next. Love the app!
This app looks like a really good way to learn a new language. I learned some French in high school and then I tried to learn Spanish on my own. I was never very good at learning the sounds but this app looks like it would help with that while being convenient and an easier to learn.
I wish they had an app to learn Kichwa! That would be so useful for me!
Learning new languages is something I always struggled with.
I would love to learn another language, I will have to check out the app!
I did not know they had an app. good luck on learning Polish
I love that there is an app for it! Everything that is accessible via mobile gadgets is much more user friendly! Good luck in your endeavor to learn Polish! That’s exciting!
I never knew that had an app. I have to admit I love travelling but i am rubbish at learning languages, but I would give this a go!
I didn’t realise Rosetta Stone had an app to learn languages from! Such a good idea, I’d love to learn another language but like you mentioned I just don’t have the time!
