Some of us will prefer longer periods of “me time”, maybe a weekend away or a day out in the city when others (like me) are more in need of more frequent but much shorter bursts of “me time”.Some of us will prefer longer periods of “me time”, maybe a weekend away or a day out in the city when others (like me) are more in need of more frequent but much shorter bursts of “me time”.

Today I would love to share with you my top five “me time” activities.

Long Walk

Walks always relax me. No matter the weather, as long as there is a nice open path in front of me in the countryside, I am happy! Walks help me think and gather my thoughts. This is one of my favourite ways to unwind and relax and it works perfectly as “me time” as long as it is just me (well dogs can come too… and maybe a cat).

Bubble Bath

This is one of those clichés which is most likely on everyone’s list… after all who doesn’t love a bubble bath.

Massage

If I could I would get a massage every single day but 1: I have no time for it and 2: I simply couldn’t afford it… instead I have a Pranamat Eco Massage Mat which allows me to have a super relaxing time in my own home with no additional cost. 15 minutes on the mat can really do wonders – it is a physical experience that activates all areas of your body, stimulates the mind, and promotes spiritual growth.

Moodles or Doodles

If you aren’t aware moodles are doodles with the power to change your mood. A few months ago I’ve received a moodle book titled “Moodles present Happy” full of activities which can really help you to relax, express your happiness and simply chill… there is no right or wrong answers… your book, your moodles.

Folding

I know this one is an odd choice but after reading “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying” by Marie Kondo I really embraced her folding ideology. In the past putting clothing or bedding away was a chore, now it’s pure pleasure. I adore every moment of it, especially when it comes to socks… seeing them so neatly folded makes me happy… so you see when I need some “me time” I am happy to go to my socks drawer to mess some of them up only so I can refold them… I know it might sound a bit crazy but you would simply have to try her methods in order to understand. 🙂
