Sinivalia – UK Made Natural Skin Care

One of the perks of being a blogger is the opportunity to try products from brands I would most likely never have found on my own. With my dry and sensitive skin I am always on the lookout for new natural skin care products, but I have to admit, I’ve never came across Sinivalia before.

Sinivalia – UK Made Natural Skin CareSinivalia was founded by a team of women passionate about skin care who literally travelled the world in search of superior skin care ingredients. Their promise:

  • Never to test product on animals
  • Every product is safe, effective and gentle
  • Every products is manufactured to the highest standards with strict quality controls
  • 100% money back guarantee in case you are less than satisfied with the product

Well, with promises like that who wouldn’t want to try their range?

I was offered to pick a few products which would suit me best. I went for: Rose Gel – Natural Daily Moisturiser simply because it’s pink and I’ve never had a pink moisturiser before and a Face Cream which can be used by all skin types; these types of creams are always useful around the house so it seemed like a great choice.

So how are the products in use?

Let’s start with the Rose Gel, RRP £49.99 for 120ml, currently on sale at £21.99

Sinivalia – UK Made Natural Skin Care – Rose Gel – Natural Daily MoisturiserThe gel is pink! In addition to being pink which is super cute it’s extremely light and soothing with great moisturising properties. It absorbs very quickly leaving a lovely smell behind. Normally I am all pro scent free creams but I actually truly adore this rose gel… maybe because it smells of roses and who doesn’t love roses? I am not able to fault the gel itself or its properties in any way, I am however a little disappointed when it comes to packaging. The gel comes in a jar… ok, this is fine and despite the fact that this is my least favourite container for a cream I could live with it but the jar doesn’t have any security measures to assure that the product received it actually brand new and never used… there is no seal on the rim of the jar itself, there is so sealed wrapper around the jar, there is no box… I know it might be my OCD talking right now but as this is a face cream with RRP of £49.99 some sort of step to assure it has a tamper-proof protection would be nice or indeed expected.

Now, let’s move to the Face Cream, RRP £39.99 for 150ml, currently on sale at £21.99

Sinivalia – UK Made Natural Skin Care – Face CreamFirst thing you notice is, it’s the size of the jar – a giant 150ml. The cream itself is pure white and extremely silky. From the first time I tried it, I really liked it. The cream is lightweight and it spreads with ease, kind of gliding on your skin leaving it super smooth, soft and well moisturised. The scent of the cream is quite strong but not very girly so I am sure it could be used by the male population as well with no big objections. Again, I really like the product inside but have the same problem when it comes to the packaging. The complete lack of any kind of protection against it having been opened before is very off putting, especially that both products have no expiry date, only PAO (period after opening).

So, to sum it up.

I like both creams… the creams as in the product inside the jars… but the packaging a big no, no for me.

Both creams are priced well, taking into consideration their natural ingredients list and their size, but unless the packaging will get some sort of make-over I wouldn’t re-order them.

Have you ever came across Sinivalia before?

What about that super cute pink gel face cream?

Can you hydrate your skin with rhubarb?

Can you hydrate your skin with rhubarb

Well, what do you think?

Can you hydrate your skin with rhubarb?

For the last week I’ve been trying the new Superskin Face Serum from Liz Earle, which contains rhubarb as one of the active ingredients. Not to worry, the serum isn’t just rhubarb based, it is actually packed with a lot of natural ingredients including: olive leaf, jujube, pomegranate and Persian silk extract.

Liz Earle Superskin Face Serum Active Ingredients

The full ingredients list includes: Aqua (water), Glycerin, Heptyl undecylenate, Caprylic/capric triglyceride, Borago officinalis seed oil, Albizia julibrissin bark extract, Rosa rubiginosa seed oil, Propanediol, Vaccinium macrocarpon (cranberry) seed oil, Sclerotium gum, Olea europaea (olive) leaf extract, Citrus aurantium amara (petitgrain) leaf/twig oil, Lavandula hybrida (lavandin) oil, Anthemis nobilis flower oil, Rheum rhaponticum root extract, Zizyphus jujube seed extract, Punica granatum flower extract, Citrus aurantium amara (neroli) flower oil, Maltodextrin, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium polyacrylate, Glyceryl behenate, Polyglyceryl-6 distearate, Xanthan gum, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Levan, Benzoic acid, Hydrolyzed algin, Linalool, Jojoba esters, Hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, Dehydroacetic acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Cetyl alcohol, Polyglyceryl-3 beeswax, Decyl glucoside, Alcohol, Sodium ascorbyl phosphate, Parfum (fragrance), Citric acid, Sodium benzoate, Geraniol, Limonene, Ascorbic acid, Phenylethyl alcohol, Citral.

I have reached that stage in my life when a serum becomes a necessity not a choice, if I want to keep my looks for longer. Having dry skin means that all those age related imperfections show even quicker on my skin due in part to the dryness. I need something which will not only slow the signs of aging but most of all I need something to help me keep the right levels of skin moisture.

I am pleased to say that Superskin Face Serum delivered everything as stated on the packaging! The serum does even skin tone as promised, it does lift and firm; it does plump and smooth but most of all it does keep tabs on skin hydration.

I’ve been using this serum for just one week but I am not able to fault it in any way. It is simply perfect.

Liz Earle Superskin Face SerumThe Superskin Face Serum comes in a pump bottle, which makes dispensing of it a pure pleasure and a very easy job.

The serum itself is kind of greyish / greenish in colour (it reminds me of olives, so maybe it could be said to have an olive colour). Its texture is not too thick and not to runny, it is just right for spreading with ease. As to the fragrance, well I am not able to put my finger on it, it is herby, not too strong; I am normally quite fragrance sensitive but this one doesn’t bother me at all, at first I even thought it may be fragrant free… but no, the fragrance is there it is just gentle and it really doesn’t stay all that long either.

Liz Earle Superskin Face SerumAfter application the Superskin Face Serum will leave your skin super smooth; you can really tell the difference between those parts of your skin where the serum wasn’t applied and where it was. The skin is really soft and it feels well moisturised. The serum is light and is absorbs into your skin within seconds, not minutes like some do; it has a non-sticky formula and it doesn’t leave any oily film on your skin also as some serums tend to do.

The Superskin Face Serum is priced at £48 for 30ml. It might not be super cheap but taking into consideration its ingredients and the fact that you only need one pump of it for a single application, I would say it is priced just right.

I can honestly recommend this serum. I couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Even the fact that it contains alcohol which normally would mean that it makes my skin even drier, doesn’t seem to have any effect this time. I guess another of the more active ingredients are counteracting the alcohol.

The Superskin Face Serum is a lovely product and if you are looking for a new skin serum to add into your daily routine then I suggest you look no further!

Have you ever used any Liz Earle products?

Which face serum would you recommend?

MyPure Choice – Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant

MyPure Choice – Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant

This month I would like to share with you my view on Gentle Facial Exfoliant from Trilogy.

Website description on MyPure states:

This extremely gentle, creamy treatment removes dead skin cells and surface debris that dull your skin’s appearance. Active honey enzymes and camelia oil help to lift dead skin cells while non-abrasive jojoba microspheres buff them away. Omega and vitamin rich evening primrose and certified organic rosehip oils assist healthy skin renewal while sweet almond and calendula oils condition.

I would say it is a pretty accurate description of the product but let’s have a closer look at it.

Packaging: Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant comes in a tube like container. It has an outer packaging in the form of a cardboard box. Both tube and box contain all the relevant information about the product (the box itself has much more detail including ingredients and warnings). I was pleased to discover that it is recyclable packaging; big plus in my eyes.

MyPure Choice – Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant.

The tube itself has a security foil so you can be sure that product is brand new and has never been used or opened beforehand.

MyPure Choice - Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant.

What struck me as a little odd was the fact that the tube seemed to be half empty; a slight case of over packaging I would say.

Price: £21.50 for 75ml (currently £19.35)

Ingredients: Aqua (water), Kaolin, Prunus amygdalus dulcis oil, Glyceryl stearate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Glycerin (vegetable), Cetearyl alcohol, Zinc oxide, Rosa Canina (rosehip) seed oil, Oenothera biennis seed oil, Camellia oleifera seed oil, Tocopheryl acetate, Macadamia ternifolia seed oil, Sodium stearoyl glutamate, Calendula officinalis flower extract (and) glycine soja (soybean) oil, Honey (mel), Citric acid, Dehydroacetic acid (and) benzyl alcohol, Parfum, Geraniol, Citronellol, Linalool

MyPure Choice – Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant .

Texture and scent: Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant comes in the form of a white cream. I was trying to take a close up of the exfoliating particles but they are hardly visible to the naked eye. You can feel them under your fingers when the product is in use but you can’t actually see them. The scent is quite gentle, very pleasant and sweet but it doesn’t stay long on your skin.

In use: I can really describe it with just one word: gentle. It rinses easily and leaves my skin extremely soft and smooth… and most important – it doesn’t cause any “aggravation” or redness despite my dry and sensitive skin.

Final thoughts: I like it and would recommend it to others. If you are looking for a gentle and natural exfoliant with no GMO I think Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant might be just the right product for you. You really don’t need strong harsh chemicals in products in order to keep your skin well exfoliated.

MyPure Choice - Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant

I think I would really like to try some other Trilogy products now 🙂

Do you use any Trilogy products?

If so, which ones and would you recommend them?

MyPure Choice -- Natural Being Manuka Honey Rich Day and Night Cream

It is packed in the box containing all the relevant information including: name and description of the product, instructions on how to use it, full ingredients list, manufacturer details and use by date.

MyPure Choice - Natural Being Manuka Honey Rich Day and Night Cream

In use: The day cream is very light, despite being called rich. It spreads with ease and leaves my skin smooth and well moisturised. It doesn’t leave me with that “heavy” feeling some “rich” creams do. It is white in colour and has quite a light and runny texture. The fragrance was a nice surprise. Most of the natural products I have tried do not have the best of fragrance out there; however Natural Being Manuka Honey Rich Day Cream actually smells very nice. It is very gentle and almost none existent but it is there. I was wondering if after some time the fragrance would change, but it didn’t.

Final thoughts: Fantastic day cream which will not break your bank balance. With a RRP of £12 it is a great buy. It leaves my skin soft and it doesn’t cause any irritations. It absorbs well without being greasy or leaving oily patches. Well worth it and I have no objection in recommending it.

Natural Being Manuka Honey Rich Night Cream

Natural Being Manuka Honey Rich Night Cream – Normal to dry skin

What to expect: Natural Being Manuka Honey Rich Night Cream is a deeply nourishing cream formulated to replenish moisture lost during the day. Enriched with Active Manuka Honey, anti-microbial Manuka Oil and botanical emollients, it works while you sleep to improve suppleness and help the skin repair and renew itself.

Ingredients: Aqua (water), Cetearyl olivate, Sorbitan olivate, Persea gratissima (avocado) oil, Vitis Vinifera (grape) seed oil, Cetyl palmitate, Sorbitan palmitate, Glycerin (vegetable glycerin), Squalane, Cetearyl alcohol, Butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, Daucus carota (carrot) extract, Glucose, Mel (manuka honey), fragrance (natural essential oils), Sclerotium gum, Glucose oxidase, Lactoperoxidase, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Liptospermum scoparium (manuka) oil, Citronellol*, Eugenol*, Limonene*, Linalool*

Packaging: Same as the day cream, the night version comes in a tube like container with a security seal on the opening, so you can be sure it is new and never been opened before. It is packed in the box containing all the relevant information including: name and description of the product, instructions on how to use it, full ingredients list, manufacturer details and use by date.

In use: The night cream is a bit thicker than the day cream version. It is also a bit more yellowy in colour. These are the only two differences I can spot really. Again, it absorbs well and it nourishes my skin during the night. After a week or so, I’ve notice that the dry flaky skin on my forehead going away – I am not sure if it was the night cream that did it or the day cream or a combination of the two. It also has the same gentle fragrance as the day cream.

Final thoughts: I am not able to fault it in any way. With an RRP of £14 it is still a great buy and I would be happy to purchase it again.

There are more products in the Natural Being range. I think that an eye cream would be a perfect addition to my current routine… and a cleanser and a tonic gel… oh well… it looks like I will have to buy them all 🙂

My Personal Beauty Wish List

My Personal Beauty Wish List

As a blogger from time to time I get to try something nice… and all is good in the world but then comes the time when I want to try a bit more… or maybe try them all… or even try a slightly different variation…

Last week as it was Black Friday I was browsing various websites in search of the perfect “something” for myself and thus I bookmarked a few things that I would really love to try.

So with no further delay, in no particular order, this is my very own Personal Beauty Wish List!

Gifts Sets from Botanicals

This might be considered a little bit greedy but I would as I said really love them all! I was lucky once enough to try some Botanicals Balm and I totally loved it… now I am hooked and want them all. So lucky for me, they have a special Christmas gift selection, which I think actually represents good value for money; especially with their current special offer of “Purchase any two gift collections and get a facial collection for free”.

Footcare Trio and Handcare Essentials from BotanicalsTo make the offer complete there is also the Footcare Trio and Handcare Essentials set 🙂

MADARA from MyPure

Next on my list is a Madara set. In the past I’ve tried a few face cleansers from this brand and I was very pleased with them. I would really like to try the whole dry skin range; I wonder if I used all the products together if it will make a major difference.

Eau de Parfum Pure Patchouli from MyPure.

Natural perfumes? I’ve never tried any, so I am intrigued and would love to give them a go. I like the patchouli scent so Pure Patchouli from Acorelle seems to me like a good starting point for a journey into natural perfumes.

This Works I Have A DreamLately I have been having some problems with my sleep pattern… again… I have had some Deep Sleep Dream Cream before and I really liked it, so the whole collection of therapeutic products, designed to enhance a peaceful sleep sounds perfect to me right now.

Hair Care from Rahua

Finally…I need something for my hair. They are still dry and I am still looking for the perfect “something”. Until last Friday I didn’t even know that a company like Rahua existed, but I really liked the description and now would love to try it. 100%, free from gluten, synthetics, parabens and sulphates – sounds perfect on paper.

Have you tried any of these products?

What’s on your beauty wish list?
