Chambers – Natural Leather Care – Review & Giveaway

Chambers – Natural Leather Care – Review & GiveawayWho doesn’t love a pair of real leather, soft, comfy shoes, leather jacket or hand bag? I bet most of us do. Leather products are still perceived as luxury and who doesn’t love a little bit of luxury? But in order to fully enjoy our beautiful posh and luxurious leather items we actually have to care of them – clothes, shoes, accessories or even your leather chair or sofa, they all need love and attention from time to time. Keeping them clean and well-conditioned will assure that they look perfect for far longer.

I personally adore leather, especially when it comes to my shoes… but hey I just love all shoes… full stop.

Anyway… I was given a bundle of Chambers leather care product to test ride. Chambers leather care range is packed with natural wholesome ingredients. They do not use silicone or other synthetic additives; the ingredients are natural and are of the highest, cosmetic grade. They may not be the cheapest ones on the block but they are for sure the most natural ones.

I was actually a little cheeky when it came to testing my Chambers leather care product; I enrolled the help of my dad… I have to admit it was a brilliant move. Dad (who exhibits mild OCD tendencies) spent almost the entire day “playing” with his new toys and cleaning all the leather items he could get his hands on… oh well I am just glad I could provide him with all that entertainment 🙂

The selection of Chambers leather care product was as follows:

  • Chambers Natural Foaming Leather Cleaner
  • Chambers Leather Balsam which can be purchase in unscented, vanilla and lavender
  • Chambers Boots Waterproofer

Chambers Natural Foaming Leather CleanerChambers Natural Foaming Leather Cleaner RRP £8.50 +P&P for 500ml

Brilliant and easy to use cleaner which according to my dad “actually works and removes stains with ease”. The results are visible immediately and it leaves any surface clean, shiny and soft. Dad used it on their sofas and noticed there was a slight problem with stickiness… evidently the sofa didn’t dry out as quick as expected (which knowing dad most likely means now, this instance) but as it ended up no one performed any test on the back of the sofa as is clearly advised on the packaging… well you live and learn every day. Despite the slight delay with the sofa being ready for use again dad was very pleased with the results and will definitely use it again… and again… and then almost certainly again.

Chambers Leather BalsamChambers Leather Balsam RRP £9.75 + P&P for 200ml

I picked my balsam in the unscented version as I wasn’t sure what would we use it for. I didn’t really want Marks bike leathers to smell of lavender (despite all the potential for lolz)… but seriously I personally wouldn’t mind it but I am not so sure Mark would be happy about this fragrant addition. So… balm… just like foaming cleaner it is easy to use and extremely effective. The formula based on beeswax and coconut oil absorbs very quickly making the whole process of application a pure pleasure. It gives a lovely sheen to your leather and plenty of additional softness.

Chambers Boots WaterprooferChambers Boots Waterproofer.Chambers Boots Waterproofer RRP £4.99 + P&P for 100ml

This is by far my Dads favourite product. He had so much fun using it that he even waterproofed his slippers and then splashed some water on them to test the effect. The waterproofer looks like an old school shoe polish and you actually apply it in exactly the same way; the only difference is you need a source of heat to make it work (a hairdryer works just fine). So you clean your shoes, then condition them and finally pop some waterproofer on them and ta-da you have 100% totally water proof shoes… the water drops bounce of them just like on a good Gore-Tex jacket for example or even our Bunks’ coat.

In all honesty I think that Chambers have created a fantastic selection of products. Not only are they 100% natural but also work just as they state on the packaging, a refreshing change imho.

And now for the best bit… If you want to test them yourself just enter our giveaway below and who knows you might be the lucky owner of the entire selection.

MyPure Choice – New Make-up Essentials – Inika & EcoTools

MyPure Choice – New Make-up Essentials – Inika & EcoToolsIn March my MyPure order contained some Inika Mineral Illuminisor and its perfect companion a Retractable Kabuki Brush from EcoTools. As I don’t wear make-up everyday it took me a while to properly asses both products; I am now ready to share my judgement 😉

Let’s start with the Inika Mineral Illuminisor.

MyPure Choice – New Make-up Essentials – Inika Mineral IlluminisorInika’s Illuminisor is an iridescent loose powder which gives the skin a beautiful dewy sheen and luminosity. You can use this gorgeous product as a highlighter on the cheeks and brow bone or dust over the entire face and decolletage to enhance your complexion and create an all-over healthy glow. Can be worn with bronzer, blush or alone to complete your look.

The first thing you will notice once you actually hold the product in your hand is its size – it is tiny. The powder comes in a 3g box. I really have no idea why I was expecting something bigger but I was. The packaging itself is very convenient. The illuminisor comes boxed and the container containing the powder itself is securely sealed.

The illuminisor powder has a slight pink colour and gives an amazing looking glow. It doesn’t leave too many sparkles so it can be used all over your face. This natural, fragrant free, not tested on animals product is suitable for both vegetarians and vegans.

The Inika illuminisor is priced at £17.00 for 3g. It is a very nice product but it is a little over priced in my opinion. If money is not an obstacle and you are looking for natural make-up then Inika may well be perfect for you but if you need to count every penny I believe there might be better value products out there on the market.

Just as stated on the MyPure website it should be applied with a Kabuki brush. I don’t have a nice brush so I ordered the Recycled Aluminium Retractable Kabuki Brush from EcoTools.

MyPure Choice – New Make-up Essentials – EcoTools Recycled Aluminium Retractable Kabuki BrushIf you never heard about EcoTools they specialise in environmentally friendly makeup brushes made from recycled aluminium, bamboo and cruelty free bristles.

I like my new brush, I like it a lot, mainly because it doesn’t shed. All my other brushes loose bristles which most of the time get into my eyes or simply tickle me in places they shouldn’t; my new brush having been in use now for way over a month hasn’t even lost a single hair 😉

The brush is both lightweight and well finished yet feels very robust. It comes with a reusable pouch which is an extra bonus I guess as it isn’t really needed for this type of brush. The bristles are extremely soft and well-formed; and as stated earlier they do not shed.

Priced at just £12.99 the EcoTool Kabuki brush represents a great value for money and if you are on the market for a new brush I can highly recommend it.

Review: InstaNatural Youth Express Eye Gel

Hello everyone! This lovely sunny morning I would love to share with you a new beauty product I’ve discovered lately (or should I say: was offered the chance to discover) – InstaNatural Youth Express Eye Gel. I don’t agree to review beauty product very often simply because I always check what’s inside them first and that can put me off but in this case I really liked what this eye gel is made from, so here it is…

InstaNatural Youth Express Eye Gel

InstaNatural Youth Express Eye Gel is an ultimate gel to battle dark circles, puffiness, small wrinkles and bags under the eyes.

It is made from natural organic ingredients and it contains no parabens, sulfates or alcohol.

The full ingredients list looks as follow: Organic Herbal Infusion, Organic Aloe, Matrixyl 3000, Palmitoyl Triepeptide-3, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Plant Stem Cells, Cucumber Hydrosol, Organic Jojoba Oil, Botanical Hyaluronic Acid, Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), Hydroxyethyl Cellulose, Carrageenan Gum, Silk Amino Acid Blend (Sodium L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylate, Sodium Lactate, L’Arginine, L-Aspartic Acid, L-Pyrrolidonecarboxylic Acid, Glycine, L-Alanine, L-Serine, L-Valine, L-Proline, L-threonine, L-Isoleucine, L-Histidine, L-Phenylalanine), Wildcrafted Vinca Major (Periwinkle), Organic Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice), Wildcrafted Euphrasia Officinalis (Eye Bright), Wildcrafted Ganoderma Lucidum (Reishi), Organic Gotu Kola, Boswellia Serrata (Frankincense), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin

InstaNatural Youth Express Eye Gel - PackagingReview - InstaNatural Youth Express Eye Gel

InstaNatural Youth Express Eye Gel comes in a 50ml pump dispenser bottle (my favourite type of packaging for beauty products). It is securely foil wrapped so you can be sure that product is brand new and unused. After opening you will have to pump it a few times and then finally the gel emerges… after this priming it will simply come out after every small pump.

InstaNatural Youth Express Eye Gel in use

The gel itself is kind of milky in colour; it’s not too thick and not too watery… it has a texture as you would expect from a gel product, I guess. It’s quite lightweight and it spreads with ease leaving a slightl cooling sensation on your skin. It doesn’t get absorbed immediately; it needs about 30 seconds to “dry out”. After this time you should experience a slight tightness of the skin where the gel was applied; it’s not like wearing a mask which has just dried out but I can definitely feel the difference on the skin when comparing it to parts of my face which the gel didn’t touch.

InstaNatural Youth Express Eye Gel doesn’t give the full effect right away but I have to admit that after just a few days of using it, during a night time only, I could definitely see the difference – my dark circles are much less defined and the puffiness is almost completely gone. The skin under my eyes feels much tighter now and for sure is much less baggy.

My InstaNatural Youth Express Eye Gel

InstaNatural Youth Express Eye Gel costs just £16.95 for a 50ml bottle. Taking into consideration its ingredients and what it can do, I would say it is a steal.

I am not very good with keeping non essential routines but I do try my best not to forget about this eye gel. It really does make a difference to my appearance so why go back to baggy dark circles under my eyes?

Do you use any eye specific products?

Have you tried anything from InstaNatural?

It cooks, it fries, and it bakes… my journey with a Redmond Multicooker

1. Redmond MulticookerA good few months ago I was gifted a beautiful looking Redmond Multicooker to “play with”. At first Mark wasn’t too impressed as any new appliance in the kitchen inevitably means less work top space; but as it ended up it actually helped us save some space 🙂

My Redmond Multicooker (RMC-M4502E ) has 34 programs – 16 automatic and 18 manual programs which enables you to cook meat, fish, poultry and seafood, vegetables, oatmeal, soup, pasta; deep fry, make yogurt and desserts, bake, and more! 3D heating helps save valuable minerals and vitamins in the food. The Redmond Multicooker features a wide temperature range from 40°C up to 160°C in handy 20°C intervals and cooking times range from 5 minutes all the way up to 12 hours in 5 minute intervals. It is perfect for making traditional meals, as well as yogurt, cottage cheese, fondue, French fries, and nuggets; it can also bake bread or cakes, prepare baby food, proof dough, pasteurize, sterilize, and more. And in this hectic modern life if you are late for dinner it will keep it warm for you for up to 24 hours 😉

Sounds good, doesn’t it?

I found this lovely introduction video which shows the cooker in its full glory.

If at this point you are wondering why you would need it… well let me explain…

Firstly, the Redmond Multicooker offers a fully automated cooking system, which means that you can simply pop your ingredients in and forget about it until it beeps 🙂 unless you are cooking a recipe which requires you to add something mid cook of course. Sometimes our busy lifestyle gets on top of us, and I bet we have all had at one time or another a cooking disaster resulting in a burnt dinner because we didn’t turn the stove off on time because we are distracted with the phone, kids or another emergency that requires immediate attention.

Secondly, due to its enclosed nature, cooking in it doesn’t present any hazard. We all know what toddles can be like… little hands go everywhere… using a multicooker means no risk of potential injuries… no hot surface to get burned on, no risk of running into the cooker with giant pot of soup or stew cooking on top.

Third, a Redmond Multicooker actually helps you to save space. Instead of a steamer, rice cooker, deep fat fryer, or a separate baby food warmer all you have is one machine, which does it all. It is an ideal all in one cooker for small kitchens. Not only does it save space, it also saves money as cooking in it is much cheaper than using an energy hungry stove or an oven, and it’s an absolute doddle to clean.

2. Redmond Multicooker

A Redmond Multicooker comes with a good range of handy accessories that include: a steam basket, deep fry basket with handle, measuring cup, serving spoon, tirpaddle, spoon/paddle holder, bowl extraction tongs and of course the main cooking bowl which has a durable non-stick coating.

We have cooked a range of dishes in our Redmond Multicooker and I would like to share with you two of my favourite.

First I want to tell you about a Fresh Mushroom Soup.

To be honest I’ve never had a mushroom soup based on fresh mushrooms before but it tastes great and the smell is simply amazing. The best part is that you can actually have this one soup served three different ways and it will taste ever so slightly different.

Redmond Multicooker and Fresh Mushroom Soup

“Plain” just as it comes from the cooker.

Redmond Multicooker and My Fresh Mushroom Soup

With added cream, which makes it more mellow and creamy (surprise, surprise).

With or without the added cream but blended into a silky smooth creamed soup (I am sorry no picture of this one).

Redmond Multicooker and My Banana Nut Cake

The second recipe I would like to share with you is for a Banana Nut Cake. We were a bit sceptical when it comes to baking in our multicooker, but just have a look at this cake… I am not sure I would be able to get a bake like this in my traditional oven to be honest.

Redmond Multicooker and Banana Nut Cake

Baking in a Redmond Multicooker sounds a bit tricky… This is due in part because mid way through the bake you have to flip the cake over. I was terrified the first time we tried it. I simply thought that my cake was going to fell apart… but it didn’t…

Redmond Multicooker and Banana Nut Cake in the making

… actually the whole turning process was extremely easy and straightforward: use tongs to remove bowl; put a large plate on top of the bowl, turn cooking bowl upside down allowing your cake to fall onto the plate and then simple slide the cake back into cooking bowl, the whole action took less than 30 seconds… it sounds much more complicated than it actually is.

Redmond Multicooker RMC-M4502E is priced at £139.90 and it can be purchased from their website at Multicooker.com. This is a mid range multicooker; their basic model starts from just £69 and goes up to £184.90 which will give you a pressure multicooker.

I really like my multicooker 🙂

What do you think about it?

Would you like one?

Does it sound like something you might be interested in?

*I was compensated for my time needed to fully test Redmond Multicooker.

90:10 – Tapping into the inner child

90 10

Dan is right.

All the men I know have something in their lives that connects to the inner child. Man never completely grow up… they are committed to maturing and “evolving” but they never full grow up. 90% grown up…the other 10% not so much… sums it up just about right.

Anyhow, 90:10 is a men’s clothing line designed specifically to preserve the boyish part of our man. Currently they offer hoodies, T-shirts, sweatshirts and polo’s. Their design is simple yet elegant, childish but still suitable for a full grown man.

Mark was sent a navy blue 90:10 signature embroidered pullover hoodie to review. Features of the hoodie include:

  • Made from 100% pure organic cotton
  • Double kangaroo front pockets
  • A draw string neck line
  • Lightweight yet warm
  • Close-fitting
  • Small logo

90 10 – Tapping into the inner child

The first sensation which grabs you once you have opened your package is the amazing softness of the fabric. We are quite a sporty family (at least when it comes to clothing) so we have our fair share of tracksuits and hoodies but it is really quite a rare thing to have something so soft. It is not possible for me to describe it in words; you will just have to order one to feel it for yourself 😉

But back to the hoodie – The 90:10 signature embroidered pullover hoodie is suitable for being worn all year round, no matter what nature has installed for us. This isn’t one of those mega thick hoodies which make you look like a snow man; this one is manufactured from medium weight cotton, which means that can even be worn as an undergarment if needed.

9010 - Tapping into the inner child

90:10 is also fairly unique in this modern world of corporate takeover, they are small, young(ish) and above all genuinely enthusiastic about their products and their company and best of all they want to do better. They are still connected to each other in such a way that customer feedback can have a noticeable impact on the way they do business, I know from experience. If they think your idea is an improvement over what they currently do they are only too happy to step it up to a new level of customer service.
So in conclusion 90:10 is a modern company with the quality of foundations that sets it on course to go far in the market place. I appreciate the cutting edge customer service and the absolute top level in quality from their products.

I have their website as a favourite in every browser, need I say more?

Oh, and if you fancy trying the amazing softness of this hoodie for yourself, you can use the discount code CUPID to receive 25% off your order.
