  1. To give your hair a break reverse wash it – condition it first, then shampoo it twice, your hair will still be soft and conditioned but will be squeaky clean, lighter and shiny.

  2. Every so often wash your hair, put plenty of conditioner in, pop a carrier bag over head (to stop drips) and a towel over that and leave for a while before washing out. Gives a really deep condition and hair feels fab

  3. I’ve heard rinseing your hair in beer is good – drinking beer is really good – in moderation of course

  4. Never, ever use a hairbrush on wet hair! It causes split ends and damage to your hair! Instead, always use a comb on your hair when it’s wet as it’s much gentler and kinder on your hair!

  5. Make sure you put a heat protection product on your hair before heat styling. It’s easier to protect your hair before than to repair it after damage

  6. Try not to wash your hair everyday! My hair is naturally greasy so I used to wash it everyday (sometimes twice a day!) The hairdresser strongly advised me not to do this so I now do alternate days and it gets nowhere near as greasy, either that or I’ve just got used to it!

  7. For brunettes -bring out natural highlights in your hair by rinsing it with cranberry juice Try mix ¼ cup pure juice with ¼ cup water .For blondes- use lemon juice instead .If you’re going to be in the sun, they brings out the rich hues in your hair.

  8. As the person above has put what I was going to when I read the question I will put my second best tip so it doesn’t seem like I’m copying! When brushing hair do it in narrow sections and brush from bottom to top (meaning get knots out of the bottom first & work your way up). This will result in less breakages, it’s also a good idea to gently tease the very worst of knots out with your fingers before using a brush.

  9. If your hair is not too damaged, only apply conditioner to the tips, it dosen’t weigh your hair down this way, leaving fuller, bouncier roots!

  10. Leave your shampoo on your hair for a min or two before rinsing off to give it a chance to get to work breaking down product build up & dirt.

  11. Forget the spending £££££’a on hair moisturisers, I’ve tried them all then last week I used ‘olive oil’………praise The Lord it’s amazeball’s, I just warmed it in the microwave, slapped it on and wrapped in a towel for an hour, washed it out (took 3 washes) and my hair is once more beautiful and shiny, from now on I’m doing it once a week!

Hope everyone had a lovely Friday the 13th, my daughter was born on a Friday the 13th so for me it’s an awesome day x

  12. I love Liz Earle Shampoo and Conditioner – full of active botanical ingredients which cleans and conditions your hair, naturally.

  13. After washing my hair I rub a little macadamia oil in and I find this stops ‘flyaway’ hair and keeps it looking glossy.

  14. Gently rub a small amount of olive oil through your hair, place a shower cap on your head and wear overnight. Wash thoroughly the next day for gleaming, nourished hair!

I love all comments :-)
