All you need to know about Wagglepets

Wagglepets is a complete dog subscription service which will provide everything you need for your canine friend: food, treats, treatments, pet tracker and this ever so important pet insurance.

There is a lot of pet subscription boxes out there at this moment but most of them focus on rewarding your pet, so you receive a selection of treats and toys each month. Wagglepets however are actually providing you with all the essentials you need to buy each month anyway.

We were asked to become a Wagglepets ambassador and try the service for the next six months. Personally I love the idea so how could I refuse such a wonderful offer!

Wagglepets is a complete dog subscription service which will provide everything you need for your canine friend: food, treats, treatments, pet tracker and the ever so important pet insurance.

How does it work?

Well, actually it is all rather straightforward… you fill out a couple of questionnaires about your dog and yourself, you set the start date, you set up a payment plan and then you sit back and wait… After just a few days your welcome box should arrive and with it all you goodies for the next 30 days.

What’s included?

The Wagglepets service is providing dry kibble dog food from the RSPCA, which is actually a great food; it’s hypoallergenic with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and it does not contain beef, pork, dairy or soya. If you dog has some special dietary requirements, have a chat to the Wagglepets team and they will be able to offer a swap for a brand your dog needs or prefers.

Within our first box we received a bag of lovely natural training treats and a giant box of dental chews, which will keep Bunk going for the next 28 days.

Other essentials
Your monthly delivery will contain other essentials which might vary from box to box… but you will always get some poo bags 🙂

Monthly flea and tick treatments are included within the Wagglepets subscription. Each month you will receive a FLEAaway spot on solution, which will keep any potential nastiest at bay.

The insurance is covered by More Th>n; you will receive a phone call just to confirm the details stated within your initial questionnaire. The vet fee cover is £4000 as it is the Classic Cover but if you think you might need an upgrade, again simply have a chat with Wagglepets and I am sure it can be arranged.

Pet Tracker
Wagglepets membership comes with a Whistle Activity Monitor; super funky on-collar device that measures your dog activities including walks, play and rest. I’ve never used anything like it before so I will share my finding about this gadget with you for sure as soon as I have collected some data.

How much does it cost?

The cost of Wagglepets membership depends on the size of your dog and prices start at £50 a month going all the way up to £100 (this is the Bunk size, giant breed, top tier membership cost).
Just doing some quick sums and taking into consideration that we currently spend over £60 a month for Bunks dry food alone, the price of Wagglepets membership adds up to a real bargain.

So what are your initial thoughts on the service?

Would you be tempted by a monthly subscription which covers all your dog essentials?

* If you like the idea of Wagglepets and you want to give them a go, you can use my code: AGATA50 at the checkout, which will give you 50% discount on your first box. BarkBeats – Review & Giveaway

BarkBeats is a dog subscription box with a heart. They deliver to you a selection of toys, treats and accessories and then donate at least 10% of their profits to UK dog rescue homes and shelters. Wonderful, isn’t it?

BarkBeats – Review & GiveawaySo how does it work?

Well, you describe your dog, you pick a plan (if you want any, as you can simply order as you go), and you pay and wait for your order to arrive at your door step 🙂

The price varies depending on the plan you choose. A one off box cost £19.99 but if taken as a 6 months subscription the price drops to a much better £14 a month and the price drops an extra pound to £13 if you take it for a full 12 months. The plans renew automatically, but you may cancel it at any time.

Our Lilly was asked to test one of BarkBeats boxes. This is what we received:

1. BarkBeats – Review & GiveawayMoody Pet Humunga Stache

4. BarkBeats – Review & GiveawayKong Air Dog Ball

5. BarkBeats – Review & GiveawayBark & Sparks Croissant

3. BarkBeats – Review & GiveawaySoopa Natural Chews

2. BarkBeats – Review & GiveawayFeelwells Training Treats

Five products and they all proved useful. Both toys are super, even the humunga stache which I actually thought would be a gimmick type of toy was liked 🙂 As for the treats, well Lilly is a lab cross so she loves all food so yes, they went down a storm with her.

Talking specifically about the treats it is worth noting that the chews are 100% natural, these are low calorie dried sweet potato, I was actually planning on making some for my guys, and so I am pleased they liked them.

The training treats were also a healthy option with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and they are wheat and wheat gluten free, which meant that Bunk could have some too.

Having tried a few pet subscription boxes before, I actually really like BarkBeats. They put very nice quality products into their boxes and I think they are well worth the money.

Being on a healthy path myself I am moving on with my new found way of life and including my dogs. I am aiming to feed them raw and offer only natural treats, so they can be as happy and healthy as possible.

As to the toys, well I have actually covered this before in my Top 3 Toys for Large & Giant Dogs post… Kong is the way to go, so I was extremely happy to see a Kong toy included as I know it will serve both Lilly and Bunk well for a lot more than a 30 minutes play session.

Overall, a huge thumbs up (or a paws up) to BarkBeats box; nice products, good price and great customer service.

Barking Rad – Handmade in Britain

Barking Rad is the UK’s coolest online pet shop offering a variety of handmade products, dog gift boxes and a monthly dog subscription service of trendy dog toys, homemade dog treats, dog grooming products and dog accessories for all hounds, both big and small.

We had the pleasure to review one of the Barking Rad subscription boxes.

So, what did we get?

Barking Rad – Handmade in BritainOur box contained:

  • Doggy donuts
  • Harry’s treats
  • “My Person Loves Me” toy
  • Skin & paw salve
  • Barkers Brew

All the products within the box are handmade in the UK. They are local, they have been created with love and using only the best ingredients or materials.

Did you know that there are no safety regulation on dog toys?

This actually came to me as a shock. I had no idea that dog toys are totally unregulated. This fact alone makes me want to shop with Barking Rad. They will do the job for me and pick only the best and safest products for my dogs.

So, how do we rate the box?

Well from the five items received four of them were spot on. The toy however was simply way too small for Lilly or Bunk to make any use of but luckily we have cats too and they seemed to enjoy it 😉

Barking Rad – Handmade in Britain - Skin & paw salveThe product which I liked the most was the skin & paw salve; packed with good ingredients including hemp oil it seems to work very well on small scratches and other skin irritations.

Barking Rad – Handmade in Britain - Doggy donutsAs for the dogs… well, I think they would vote paws up for the donuts to be their number one!

Barking Rad offers three different subscription options:

The Original – packed with on-trend accessories, fun toys, grooming products and delicious treats.

The Foodie One – all the goodies your pooch can eat; from nutritious dog treats to chunks of dried deli meats, handmade dog cakes and even dog beer.

The One for Allergies – full of hypoallergenic treats, fun toys, grooming products (mild and soothing for sore skin) and trendy accessories but that isn’t all… you will receive an email every month just to check if your dog isn’t allergic to anything within the already declared hypoallergenic box.

All those boxes are priced at £24.95 inclusive of p&p. You have to order before 14th of the month to get a current month box. If you miss the deadline your box will arrive in the following month.

I hope Barking Rad will expand their service and offer cat friendly boxes too in the future.

Have you ever came across Barking Rad?

Vineabox comes to UK

Vineabox is a French wine subscription service which has just launched its service in the United Kingdom under the trading name Wine & Sympathy.

After 3 years of successful trading Vineabox has expanded into cheese, so now in addition to wine they also offer an artisan cheese selection. Both wine and cheese can now be ordered in the UK.

Vineabox comes to UK - Wine & SympathySo how does it work?

Well, it is pretty straight forward – you make your pick – wine or cheese or both: wine and a cheese box – you select the subscription length, pay and wait for your delivery 🙂

All subscriptions can be taken on a 3, 6 or 12 month’s basis… obviously the longer the subscription the lower the price per item.

There is four choices of subscription: 2 bottles of wine, 3 bottles of wine, 4 cheeses or 2 bottles of wine and 4 cheeses every month.

It’s well worth noting that this isn’t just any old wine and certainly not any old cheese.

Wine & Sympathy has a partnership with Franck Thomas, regarded as the best Sommelier of 2000 in France and Europe. Franck selects wines that should delight subscribers. They focus on the artisan winemakers, from the renowned regions to the more remote ones. Most wines are sourced within France itself.

The products provided by Wine & Sympathy are designed to enrich our world and knowledge about wine and cheese. They aren’t meant to be drink or eaten alone after dinner; they supposed to be tasted and discussed with friends and family to promote discovery.

The subscription service isn’t cheap – the 3 bottles of wine subscription starts at £46.90 for three months going down to £42.90 if taken for the year so if you are after a £5 bottle of wine this service simply isn’t for you. Wine & Sympathy are after real wine and cheese lovers, people with passion who are eager to discover new flavours.

Vineabox comes to UK – Wine & SympathyI was provided with their latest mix box, which contained a wonderful selection of wines as follow:

  • Spanish red, bursting with berry flavours
  • French Rosé with a grapefruit nose
  • French fruity white packed with peach flavours

If you like wine and cheese, above just considering them as nutritional sustenance and something to swig with dinner, then I would suggest you should check them out, I highly recommend them. When people have gone to so much trouble to match up a culinary pairing such as this (that can so easily go wrong) you have to respect them and what’s more relish in their achievement when they get it right and in my opinion Wine & Sympathy have got it right.
