Gentle Baby Regimen with Skinfix
Every skin is different and it might require different regimen but all babies have something in common, their skin is thinner, more delicate and definitely more sensitive and much more prone to dryness than adult skin, therefore it requires special protection. Baby skin should only be exposed to mild, child friendly products, which will nourish their skin, protect its natural balance and maintain the outer, protective layer. Skinfix can offer it all.
Skinfix Inc. is a Canadian company that makes healing balms and daily care products that treat skin’s most vexing conditions. Their story starts around 1850 in Victorian England when a Yorkshire merchant compounded an active skin healing ointment. Through the years they have changed their “place of business” but their formulas are still compounded using the scientific traditions of pharmacopeia.
Now they return to Brittan.
Skinfix, has launched a range of skin care products onto the UK market. Their collection is dermatologist recommended, fragrance-free and use natural ingredients. At present there is four product design especially with babies in mind:

Toddler Life – Snack Time
A lot of parents complain about their kids being fussy eaters, they may be right, their kids might be fussy but then there might also be a different explanation – a lack of the right type of food…
A few months ago Leo started to show a lot more independence when it came to food. He will no longer blindly eat whatever is in front of him, his taste is now much more refined and he is communicating his wants and needs quite clearly. It took us a while to find a good combo which makes feeding and snacking time pleasurable for all of the family.
A combo of good quality, kids friendly feeding “tools” from Oxo Tot and a great selection of healthy, tasty snacks from Kiddylicious seems to have worked wonders for us. We no longer have to worry if Leo will or will not eat his food.
Oxo Tot offers a wide selection of baby and toddler feeding cups, plates and dishes. Lately our favourite is the flippy snack cup. The Flippy Snack Cup’s soft, flexible opening gives kids easy access to goodies, yet keeps even small snacks off the floor. The twist-on lid stays secure when the Flippy Snack Cup is dropped, and the non-slip handle is shaped for tots. Includes a solid snap-on cover to keep snacks fresh and secure. Sounds perfect, doesn’t it? But it isn’t only about keeping food fresh and off the floor, it also gives the feeling of achievement, it’s like a mini game… if I want a snack, I have to “hunt” for it, inside my cup… Leo enjoys it, which really does make a difference when it comes to the whole eating process. I only wished that Oxo Tot made this cup in a bigger size as well. Our flippy cup is good now but very soon it will simply be too small 🙁
We first were introduced to Kiddylicious almost a year ago when Leo received a giant goodie box filled with their delicious snacks to help him celebrate his first birthday. Since that moment Leo was hooked, and in turn so were we 🙂 Now this year it is even better as the Kiddylicious range has expanded. Currently flavour of the month award goes to Smoothie Melts, no matter which flavour as he loves them all.
Do you have your own perfect combo when it comes to snacking time?

Toddler Life – How to get a good night’s sleep in winter
Winter, at least on this part of the globe, means low temperatures, which leads to the heating blasting most of the time in our houses, which invariably dries out the air in the room. Dry, stuffy rooms aren’t sleep friendly, especially for fussy kids, who struggle with bed time anyways. But, there is a solution – a humidifier, a device which will keep the atmosphere in a room moist and thus in turn sleep friendly.
We were sent a SweetDreams cool mist humidifier with projector by Vicks so we can test and see if it will makes a difference.
Well, it did!
Leo’s room isn’t the biggest in the world and there is a radiator close to his cot. Despite turning the heating down during the evenings and night hours, the room still gets hot and stuffy. A humidifier really helps to clear the air and make it breathable again, providing a much better sleeping environment.
But this isn’t all.
The humidifier comes with a projector, which projects 3 different themes of three slides each. It might not sounds like a lot but trust me for a toddler this is plenty… he simply gets fixated on the pictures and just dozes off to sleep. And to make things even better each theme has its own bedtime story 🙂
I enabled stories above to be clickable and left the large file so if you fancy you can simply download them and print them out, as they are cute little stories.
So, how to get a good night’s sleep in winter?
- Stick to a bedtime routine.
- Air the room well before bedtime but do not make it too cold.
- Turn the heating down or at least turn the radiator in the room down a bit.
- Turn on the humidifier and let it work its magic.
- If you have a wonderful projector like us, turn it on.
- Read a bedtime story and watch your toddler falling to sleep blissfully.
- Enjoy your evening 😉
Any tips to add?
